چکیده
The use of natural electromagnetic (EM) emissions in extreme low frequency (ELF) and very (VLF) radio bands for monitoring predicting landslide activity is examined. approach based on measuring EM using receivers subsequent correlation their intensity with the amount character deformation landslide. There are several sources rock environment, but it mostly piezoelectric impulse quartz grains during or sliding movements within masses. Deformation was observed studied body. Deformations were measured a geodetic band network stakes, which installed before re-measured after recording signal attributed to geodynamic activity. A method direct entire VLF spectrum sound cards such as AD converters applied. So far, candidate signals captured two permanent stations have been built.

ELF/VLF wave generation from the beating of two HF ionospheric heating sources
[1] It is well established that Extremely Low Frequency (ELF, 0.3–3 kHz) and Very Low Frequency (VLF, 3–30 kHz) radio waves can be generated via modulated High Frequency (HF, 3–10 MHz) heating of the lower ionosphere (60–100 km). The ionospheric absorption of HF power modifies the conductivity of the lower ionosphere, which in the presence of natural currents such as the auroral electrojet, cre...
متن کاملOn the altitude of the ELF/VLF source region generated during beatwave HF heating experiments
[1] Modulated high frequency (HF, 3–10 MHz) heating of the ionosphere in the presence of the auroral electrojet currents is an effective method for generating extremely low frequency (ELF, 3–3000 Hz) and very low frequency (VLF, 3–30 kHz) radio waves. The amplitudes of ELF/VLF waves generated in this manner depend sensitively on the auroral electrojet current strength, which varies with time. I...
متن کاملELF/VLF wave generation using simultaneous CW and modulated HF heating of the ionosphere
[1] Experimental observations of ELF/VLF waves generated using the dual‐beam heating capability of the High frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) HF transmitter in Gakona, Alaska, are compared with the predictions of an ionospheric HF heating model that accounts for the simultaneous propagation and absorption of multiple HF beams. The model output is used to assess three properties ...
متن کاملHF beam parameters in ELF/VLF wave generation via modulated heating of the ionosphere
[1] ELF/VLF (0.3–30 kHz) wave generation is achievable via modulated HF (3–30 MHz) heating of the lower ionosphere in the presence of natural currents such as the auroral electrojet. Using the 3.6 MWHigh Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) facility near Gakona, AK, we investigate the effect of HF frequency and beam size on the generated ELF/VLF amplitudes, as a function of modulat...
متن کامل100 days of ELF/VLF generation via HF heating with HAARP
[1] Extremely low frequency/very low frequency (ELF/VLF) radio waves are difficult to generate with conventional antennas. Ionospheric high frequency (HF) heating facilities generate ELF/VLF waves via modulated heating of the lower ionosphere. HF heating of the ionosphere changes the lower ionospheric conductivity, which in the presence of natural currents such as the auroral electrojet creates...
